Quick Wins

  • Problem was politically generated; political solution should be developed.
  • Lack of adequate budgetary allocation to address the problem.
  • Lack of unity in addressing our local problems.
  • Conduct district needs assessment at the district level through stake holders through participatory approach.
  • Identify the location and number of IDPs in the existing camps.
  • Record the nature and extent of the problems.
  • Determining the current level of service delivery and identify existing gaps &corrective measures.
  • Mobilise community to donate goods e.g. tents, iron sheets, clothes, food etc

Long term Solutions

  • Establish a fund to acquire resettlement land for IDPs
  • Support current initiatives being applied by all stake holders e.g. kikuyu district mbevu, njithi welfare association.
  • Land donation for resettlement
  • Solution must ensure sustainability and integration.

Physically Challenged

  • Harness all the available resources in the district to address identified service provision gaps.
  • Utilize all available human resource capacity in the district.
  • Establish association and networks dealing with concern/issues of specific groups.
  • Establish a desk/office for disabled and IDPs at the district level.
  • Sensitize communities on the need for openness, available resources and networking.
