• Girl-child has many challenges e.g. Early pregnancy; rape &sexual assaults and Limited access to education
• Boy-child has many challenges e.g. Lack of role models, neglected,  limited education opportunities, drug and substance abuse etc.
• Women face challenges e.g. Land, sidelined in leadership, lack legal support, gender based violence, exposed to HIV/Aids, education
• Men face challenges e.g. Alcoholism, unemployment, inferiority complex.

Interventions/Solutions

Quick Wins

• Establishment of a land office in the district
• Development of a policy on the purchase and sale of land which should encompasses both parties (Husband and wife).
• Legal Support - legal aid clinics e.g. Gatanga Constituency.
• Fight/ Reduce Gender Based Violence (GBV) through Security/community policing/response, Education/awareness and Legal aid/education
• Eliminate/reduce drugs and substance abuse through education/awareness, Skills and training (kazi kwa vijana), Law enforcement to reduce access to 24 hour drinking dens and licensing of village bars.
• Establish a NACADA branch and rehabilitation centres
